Welcome to the website of Foundation for World Animals

This Foundation is a sister organisation of People for Animals in India. This organisation offers support to organisations for animal welfare and animal shelters and/or hospitals, offering assistance with the setting up of animal clinics in developing countries through fundraising, membership donations and other non-financial support. In the current climate of inequality and materialism it is more than ever important that we support each other, both humans and animals, in order to ensure that all living things receive a fair chance in life. Animal welfare has no priority in developing countries. Both animals and humans suffer the consequences of factors such as poverty, lack of education, religious beliefs and social injustices.

The Foundation for World Animals wants to support and initiate projects which aim to encourage people to improve care for their animals and local environment. Stray animals are considered to be a burden as they multiply quickly and often carry infectious diseases. We wish to prevent these animals from becoming sick and thereby further spreading disease. By supporting sterilisation programmes and medical treatment we aim to bring about conditions in which man and animal can live in harmony.

Dear Mrs Roovers

This is to thank you for the enormous help that you have given the animals of India. The place you have chosen to sponsor and help for the last 10 years is Agra – which , even though it is a tourist city , has a huge number of street animals that no one looks after. From horses that are whipped and overladen to dancing bears and dogs that die wretched deaths from starvation and disease , to donkeys and cows and pigs and wild animals , this district is a miserable place for animals. People for Animals run by Dr Surat Prasad Gupta is the only shelter in the whole district and I know , that , without your help , it would not have been able to survive.
We look forward to our partnership and to your generosity for many years to come. Please thank, on our behalf , all the people who have given so graciously to your foundation in order to help our animals.
